There's Nothing Better Than Being Connected, And The Social Connection Has You Covered

By Jake Levin

Adam O'Connor is well-connected.

The Event Marketing Manager of The Social Connection and Ultimate Fun Productions in Redford, Mich., stresses his company has something for everyone, no matter what they enjoy doing with their free time. The company produces lifestyle events, whether it be a New Years Eve soiree like The Gala or a weekend-long family friendly festival like RibFest.

"We put on many events over the course of the year, with many different and unique themes for each," O'Connor said. "The one consistent thing throughout all of them is that we strive to provide an experience for the general public that helps them with their free time."

The Social Connection produces many one-night specialty events as well, such as Whiskey Business, Indulgence, and Bacon Bash. Everything from wine tastings to fun runs are also part of the programming. All in all, O'Connor estimates his company puts on roughly 100 events annually.

O'Connor tries to hold the events as centrally-located as possible but in a wide variety of locations so that many people can attend.

"Many are held in the Royal Oak/Ferndale area, so that they are accessible via Woodward or [Route] 696," he said. "We've collectively held events in Northville, Detroit, Pontiac, Farmington Hills, Hazel Park and many others."

O'Connor wants the general public to know just how much hard work he, and his staff, puts in to these events so that patrons can take a break from their daily grind, especially in times like these.

"During these stressful times, when there's so much uncertainty in our society even if it's just for an evening out, it is very important to us that every attendee leaves our event having enjoyed every aspect of our functions," he said.

Some cool events coming up on the slate include party buses to Comerica Park for Detroit Tigers games over the course of the baseball season, and a party bus to the Michigan-Michigan State football game on Oct. 7 in Ann Arbor.
