Soprano's Catering Does Italian The Right Way

By Elisha Neubauer

When it's your event, you want it to be special. It doesn't matter what it is whether it's a wedding, a graduation party, or a simple backyard BBQ, you want the best for your guests. The food and drink available to your guests can often set the tone of your gathering, and is often what people will recall the most vividly. For this reason, it's important to book a catering company you can trust.

Soprano's Catering has one motto which has remained in the forefront of everything they do since their very first event. Owned and operated by an Italian family, the Soprano's creed is, "We feed you like family." The passion and dedication to each meal they prepare shows in the immense flavors, the quality of the ingredients, and the presentation of the food.

"Everything on our menu is made from scratch," Vince Vettese, General Manager, said. "We bake our bread fresh daily, make our own salad dressing (we have been asked to bottle it) and all of our sauces are made from scratch."

They follow a farm to table concept when picking ingredients for their edible creations. The company currently works with many local farms, getting most of their ingredients directly from the Eastern Market. To bring the freshness even closer to the meal, they even grow their own spices directly in the garden of their impressive, and new, 6,000 square foot kitchen.

"When our chefs need a specific spice, they only have to walk out the front door where we have an endless supply of Basil, Oregano, Thyme, Bay Leaves, Marjoram, Mint and many more," Vettese said. "We also grow eggplant for Vegetarian Dishes and Various Hot Peppers for when we need to turn up the heat."

Soprano's specializes in Italian meals, being an Italian family after all, but that is not the only style of food available to clients. In fact, they offer a wide variety of options from classic barbecues cooked on-site as well as Mediterranean dishes, Polish dishes, and customized menus designed to your liking. The Soprano's chefs are highly qualified, having worked with Soprano's for over a decade now. While freshness is a focus for the Italian-inspired catering company, attention to detail seems to be where the guests are hooked.

"It may be our 100th wedding service, but for our guest it is the only one they will ever have," Vettese said. "It needs to feel that way."

As Vettese will gladly explain, the Soprano's Catering family is Italian and it's in their nature to enjoy feeding people. But it's more than just shoveling food into people. They love to host and they're devoutly passionate about that.

"Life is too short to not enjoy great food, great company, and great Love," Vettese said.
