Pesto's: Delicious Dishes that Are Easy on Your Wallet

By Elisha Neubauer

Richard Redmer is no stranger to the restaurant business. In 1985, Redmer attended the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. After graduation, he made his way to the tourist hotspot of New Orleans, where he dove headfirst into the industry through various hotels and restaurants, fine-tuning his culinary skills.

While Redmer was developing his skill set, he felt the desire to move home, to Michigan, where he longed to be able to provide his fellow neighbors with great food and an even better place to spend some time.

"I moved back to Michigan with a desire to produce good quality food at a reasonable price with a casual atmosphere," Redmer told us regarding his decision to move back to his hometown of Flint, Michigan.

The journey home led him to open Pesto's, an eatery known for its food with flair. "We are situated at the corner of Miller and dye road in Flint Township," Redmer stated. "Across the street is Swartz creek." He continued, detailing the beauty of the surrounding area. "The Flint area is one of the most beautiful areas in the country contrary to its reputation. We are a stone's throw from numerous inland lakes, ski hills, golf courses, and a lot of entertainment venues in every direction."

The popular eatery is in a prime location for convenience, being only twenty minutes from major landmarks such as Fenton, Flushing, Davidson, and Grand Blanc. With three major highways convening directly within a mile from the facility, reaching Pesto's is easier than finding your local fast food joint. And for those shoppers who are looking for a satisfying meal after a long day of retail therapy, Pesto's is only a half-mile from the Genesee Valley Mall.
