By Cameron Schea

Please describe a little bit about your company and the services you offer.

Silverback Moving & Storage is a Michigan based firm offering both residential and commercial services to those moving within the state or throughout the country. With service centers in Michigan, Illinois, and Florida, Silverback Moving and Storage is able to offer a quality of services to those moving across state lines that is unparalleled.

When should I start packing for my move? Do I need to have everything packed before the movers show up?

You are able to pack your own belongings or we are happy to pack for you. Either way, the home must be properly prepared prior to move day. It is far too overwhelming to be packing boxes and loading the truck in the same day. Establish a timeline for your move and stick to it. I always recommend having the professional moving company pack your boxes. Having your boxes packed properly saves time, hassle, and money.

Should I take an inventory of all my belongings so I make sure everything arrives at my new home?

Yes, always research the company you are hiring. You want to be certain they withhold an honest reputation. Do not make the mistake of hiring a company that utilizes day labor, this will only lead to theft and dissatisfaction with the overall move. Considering your entire home is being packed into a truck and sent miles away, it is best to know exactly what is being handled.

Is there anything I should make sure is set up in my new home before I make the move?

Often clients will have their utilities and renovation work done prior to us moving their belongings into their new home. We recommend this so that after we leave your home after the move your family can start a new life refreshed and relaxed.

How do I make sure there is a parking space available for the truck at my old and new home?

We strongly recommend google maps. By simply googling the two addresses, you will be aware of what to prepare for.

When should I turn off the electricity in my old home?

Turn the electricity off after you move out. Do not make the mistake of taking care of this prior then having a move day without lights or AC.

Should I provide helpers for the movers?

No, our staff are trained and more than capable to handle any and all of your needs. It is not necessary and strongly discouraged to have helping hands.

What are some other things I can do to make sure my move runs as smoothly as possible?

Remove all heavy items from wood furniture drawers. It is not healthy for the furniture to have added weight within the piece.

What is the best way for people to get in contact with you or your company?

(248) 805-1063
We prefer phone conversation or face to face in the clients home. This way we are able to grasp and note each of the clients special needs and individual requests.
