Family-Owned and Operated Remodeling: An Interview with Artisian Construction, Inc.

By Kristen Bosse

Please describe a little bit about your company and the services you offer.

Artisian is full phase design build remodeling and building company. We specialize in removing bearing walls, brick cutouts for windows where there is none, and restoration from plaster to wood.

What is your position at Artisian Construction?

I am the Owner and Operator.

Does the process differ at all constructing a luxury bath suite compared to a standard bathroom?

Yes slightly. A luxury suite will usually have more electrical, plumbing man hours and top of the line products. Usually we will install a floor warming system, and towel bars that keep towels warm. Other additions include showers with no sill to walk over, hanging or floating cabinets, or more lighting options.

We have also been known to install linear drains, built in mirrored medicine cabinets that have built in blowers to blow the steam off, Quartz counters, floating seats in the shower, sometimes a steam unit, and always euro glass doors. With all of this, there is either our designer or an Architect involved.

What eco-friendly products do you offer? Is it important for you to promote environmentally friendly construction?

We always try to use earth friendly products, even more so we take care in our demolition, as a lot can be sold or donated and kept from overfilling our dumps. Many times we will take the money and give it out as bonuses.

What are some aspects of your business philosophy that have allowed you to be successful over the years?

Three Golden Rules:
- Always be on time.
- Always keep the job site clean.
- Always return calls promptly.

What should every client expect from a quality remodeling company?

The same as a good marriage, Honesty integrity excellent communication, hi standard s and above average quality.

I would imagine your services can significantly increase the value of a home. Have your customers experienced this after utilizing your services?

This is quite common, for instance we had finished a basement for a good client of ours because they were having trouble selling there home. Everyone bought a home with a finished basement. This went on for two years . within 2 weeks of finish the house was sold.

What's the best way for people to get in contact with you?

Its time to flip a coin, Internet or phone.
