Groove to the Music with Super Dave DJ

By Marina Jokic

Ranked as one of the top five DJ's in the Detroit area by Michigan's Channel 4 and having performed in front of crowds as large as 7,000 people, Super Dave certainly knows the event entertainment industry inside and out. Owner Dave Barents prides himself on the highly-skilled professionals on his team and their resourcefulness and adaptability to diverse client needs. One way in which Super Dave distinguishes itself from its competitors is its niche knowledge of Christian music. In fact, Barents tries his best to avoid any kind of profane music in an effort to respect Christian principles.

"We put the wow in any event," Dave said. Whether it's a wedding, a reunion, or a birthday party, Dave can anticipate your entertainment needs, accommodate your every musical wish, and create a unique tapestry of sound, lighting, and activities to match your style and that of your guests.

To Dave, every client relationship is unique and requires discernment to understand their vision of their perfect event. Super Dave's goal is to take the stress off of planning your soiree, and to make the final production as seamless as possible.

Why did Dave choose to brand himself as a Christian DJ? His deep faith in the Christian tradition and his values have inspired his professional life, giving him an important outlet for helping people through his artistic talents and the power of music. He wanted to be able to give people an entertaining atmosphere without some of the distasteful elements one might find at a night club or bar.

Super Dave's business model was born out of Dave's personal beliefs and values and his desire to entertain people. At the end of the day, Dave knows that people need to have fun.

"As the emcee, I will present performers, speak to the audience, and generally keep the event moving," Dave said. The secret to good emceeing is feeling the vibes of the audience and knowing what they want at any particular moment in time. Being quick on your feet and able to improvise are key to being good at this job.

Each event, small and large alike, brings its own set of challenges, and Dave has to adapt quickly and often go with the flow of what the public wants. In the end, delivering excellent entertainment and memorable moments to people are what matter most at Super Dave DJ.
