Finding the Right Real Estate Agent for You: An Interview with Pia Crum of Reinhart Realtors

By Pia Crum

Tell us a little bit about your company and its foundation.

I am affiliated with the Ann Arbor Board of Realtors, NAR, MAR, Green Certified and in the final stage of GRI certification. I pride myself in paying attention to my clients needs and writing solid contracts. I have a passion for contract law and negotiations. I also believe in sustainable homes and can help guide you in how to implement green living into your home. I will market your home using many social media outlets to reach far more people than simply listing it in the MLS.

Contact me so we can sit down and look at what has sold near you, what you can expect to sell your home for and how quickly! I will market your home in a multitude of ways, including presentations, advertising, Internet sites and Reinharts' extensive relocation network to increase your exposure to all those buyers waiting to find the right home for them.

I am always happy to assist you, your family, and your friends with their property needs and questions. My business is built on personal referrals and I appreciate all of your feedback! I am also a member of the Saline Chamber of Commerce and volunteer as much as possible for the community. I live in Saline and relax in my off time by gardening organically with my hubby of 27 yrs. and my kids. I look forward to your call! Let's get started.

Why is it so important to find someone with relevant experience?

An experienced agent has gone through many Listing and Buying transactions and can give the client advice based on real market experience as to what does and doesn't work. Also, keeping up with continuing education and local market changes is key for the agent to do.

Where should I start in my search for a real estate agent?

Check with your towns local Chamber of Commerce recommendations, Trusted publications, agent websites and friends, neighbors, family referrals are all a good start.

What are the advantages of working with a full-time agent, rather than an agent who has another job?

A full time Realtor, like me, is what you want. As a full time professional, I am 100% dedicated to my profession and it is my career. I am fully absorbed in Real Estate and stay on top of any and all changes. Part-timers are torn between two worlds. I work with Sellers, Buyers and clients that need Relocation assistance when moving out of or into the area.

Should I go through family and friends to find reliable agents?

Yes. If the people you trust in your circle of influence, trust and refer their agent to you, that means they were satisfied. Although everyone's situation is different, a great Realtor can adapt to your needs. Referrals are the greatest compliment I can receive.

What are some questions I should be sure to ask when I interview potential real estate agents?

How do you stay organized?
Are you on top of the latest social media technology?
Will you share some references of former clients?
What areas do you specialize in?
Do you write a strong contract?
When are you available to me, what schedule can I expect?
What local lenders do you work with?

Should I trust print advertisements for real estate agents?

Yes, initially as a trusted newspaper or magazine also does their homework to check out who they are representing . My best advice is to do your research, read testimonials, and set up a face to face interview with the agent to see if you are a good fit for each other.

What is the best way for people to get in contact with you or your company?

Call me, Pia Crum, at 734-680-6235 or email me at pcrum@reinhartrealtors.com. I want to work with you!
